SLT
The Servant Leadership Training Program is for boys ages 14-15. What is SLTP and what does it mean? SLTP stands for Servant Leadership Training Program. This two-week program is designed to introduce and develop certain characteristics of Biblically based servant leadership modeled after Jesus Christ. Participants will prepare to lead tomorrow by learning characteristics of servant leadership and reviewing many great servant leaders of the past and present.
This program is for young men who are interested in developing leadership skills while keeping many AYC traditions. Campers will participate in hands-on, highly interactive training sessions. Jesus' mission was to serve others and give his life away. Campers will experience this through service projects, volunteer programs, peer leading and technical skills. Regular camp activity periods will be replaced by field trips for projects and other hands-on activities. Campers will work hard and play hard! Fun activities like paintball and whitewater rafting are combined with skills and learning like CPR training and group dynamics for a great camp experience!
SLTs enjoy the security of a group environment while learning under the direction of a staff trainee director. They work on goal setting and personal growth while discovering the essential characteristics of a good cabin counselor, and they learn the art of good servant leadership.
