Extremist Adventure

Boys Camp

The Extremist Adventure Program (for boys ages 13-15) is for campers with previous outdoor experience who are interested in a more extreme adventure experience. (It is similar to the two week basic adventure camp in past years.) Campers will spend most of their time away from the traditional camp setting. Home during this two week program will be both in a camp cabin as well as tents or tarps in the forest. Participants will prepare many of their meals as they learn to live in and survive in an outdoor enviroment, while other meals will be eaten alongside the rest of camp in the dining hall. Activities include AYC ropes course and AYC tower experiences, rock climbing, rapelling, a 2-3 night backpacking trip, flat water or class one kayaking and white water rafting trips. A possibility for additional day trips including day hiking to local natural attractions or mountain biking will be decided on by the group and the adventure leaders. The adventure trips will take the campers as far north as Tennessee. It is not uncommon for the boys and girls adventure program participants to travel together and participate in the off campus activities together.
