Cabin 15

Charlie Norwood, an AYC alumnus, was a member of the United States House of Representatives for Georgia's 10th district. He served from January 1995 until the time of his death, February 13, 2007. After Charlie's passing, his wife, Gloria generously gave a contribution to the camp in memory of her husband. This memorial gift has been used to remodel cabin 15 which included the addition of a full bathroom with triple fixtures. A small kitchen addition was also part of this extensive remodel. The newly improved version of cabin 15 will allow the Athens YCamp Retreat Center to host two separate retreat groups at the same time. Cabin 15 can seat up to 75 people for group meetings while another group can utilize the lodge. We are deeply grateful to Mrs. Norwood for her kind gift. The camp staff will continue to share with the campers the story of Charlie Norwood and the shining example of Christian leadership he exemplified.
